iPhone ‘fastest-selling product of all time’

Posted by Budi Putra on November 12th, 2007

Mobile phone giant O2 has declared Apple’s iPhone its fastest-selling product of all time, less than a week after the handset went on sale in Europe.

O2, which is owned by Spain’s Telefonica, told the newspaper they had sold tens of thousands of units so far.

O2, now has around 18 million customers in the UK alone, is the exclusive mobile network for iPhone handsets in the UK after beating off competition from rivals such as Vodafone.

Peter Erskine, the chief executive of O2, which is Apple’s exclusive UK network partner, said tens of thousands of iPhones had been sold.

More than 1 million iPhones have been sold in the US.
